Utility Billing Information
Water and sewer bills are rendered bi-monthly and become
due and payable within 20 days. A late payment charge of
3% but not less than $.50 will be added to bills not paid
within 20 days of issuance. This one-time 3% late payment
charge will be applied only to any unpaid balance for the
current billing period’s usage. Any unpaid balance
on November 15 of each year will be placed on the tax roll
and become a lien against the property. (Failure
to receive bill does not exempt customer from penalty.)
Payment Information
Pay Stations through out the City are: City Hall, Citizens
State Bank, Premier Bank, Fort Community Credit Union and
all branches in the City of Fort Atkinson only.
“After Hours Drop Box” on the south (Water Street) side of
City Hall.
Meter Reading
Meter readers read residential meters in the city of Fort
Atkinson every month.
A-Zone (North of River) B-Zone
(South of River)
Since residential consumption may increase in the summer
months due to lawn watering or filling swimming pools, etc.,
a summer credit is given on the sewer portion of the water
bill. (See charts below:)
A-Zone Summer Credit: From read date in May thru read date
in September.
Bills in January, March, May, July, September, November—Use
March read for summer credit. (Save Jan-Mar)
B-Zone Summer Credit: From read date in April thru read
date in August. Bills in February, April, June, August, October,
and December—Use February read for summer credit. (Save
Dec-Feb)
Public Fire Protection
The water utility directly charges customers for Public Fire
Protection (PFP) to pay for the production, storage, transmission,
sale and delivery of water for public fire protection purposes.
The PFP charge is billed quarterly as a fixed charged based
on the size of the water meter.
